On a bright and crisp December day, and about nine months to the day after we brought the boat home, we invited friends to the re-enaming ceremony and launching of Lazarus at Lake Fairview. I taped to the side of the boat, a poster of pictures taken during the project for freinds to see how far the boat had come. I donned a Viking hat, and read from a well versed ancient renaming ceremony I found via the Internet. We toasted the wind gods and splashed her with Champagne. Our retired missionary friends and neighbors Ed and Missy gave a Christian Navy blessing over her, and down the ramp she went. We took Ed and Missy on Lazarus' maiden voyage, and then laterMargaret and I took her out for our boats club's Beachball Race. It took us awhile to get the feel of the boat. It felt as if we were tacking thru about 110*, so we have some adjustments to make to get her pointing higher. It was a great day on the water
